At ERM, as a Senior Consultant, EHS Compliance, based in Indianapolis, Indiana or St. Louis, Missouri, you'll tackle complex regulatory challenges, work on high-profile projects for global clients, and continue expanding your technical depth alongside some of the industry's leading experts.

What You'll Bring

Required

  • BS in engineering, environmental science or environmental science-related field (e.g., geology) occupational health and safety, or related discipline. Masters a plus; Minimum 3.25 GPA or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant environmental experience or professional internships
  • Strong commitment to safety, and ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions and in challenging terrain
  • Detail-oriented with excellent critical thinking and trouble-shooting/problem-solving skills
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus
  • Experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports, and building tables and spreadsheets (including tabulation and manipulation of data)
  • Demonstrated attributes to become a strong consultant: team player, eagerness to learn and grow. Self-starter who takes initiative, versatile, and service-oriented mentality
  • Highly organized with keen eye for detail, but with the ability to maintain the big picture
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
  • Ability to maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently
  • Ability to pass pre-hire background check and drug test

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Prior consulting experience supporting EHS compliance or environmental projects
  • Experience supporting multi-site or complex regulatory environments
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, sustainability, site investigation and remediation, and due diligence transaction projects
  • Prepare plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, hazardous material management, oil spill prevention and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) storm water and wastewater programs
  • Perform environmental compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Provide general EHS compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed
  • Perform Phase I environmental site assessments to support property transfer transactions
  • Conduct fieldwork, including sampling, ecological field studies, drilling, well installation, remedial pilot tests, construction oversight, and remedial system operation and maintenance
  • Compile and evaluate data and assist in report preparation
  • Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and with high quality standards on project deliverables
