Job description

I. Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Ecobat’s global HSE strategy. This role partners with corporate leadership and site operations to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and drive a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.

This position will be based at Ecobat’s corporate office in Dallas, TX and will have oversight of multi-site HSE programs, supporting operational excellence and sustainability initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute corporate HSE strategies aligned with Ecobat’s operational and sustainability goals
  • Provide leadership and direction to regional and site HSE teams
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HSE performance, risks, and opportunities
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement and accountability at all levels
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Lead internal audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risk
  • Maintain and standardize HSE policies and procedures across all operations
  • Design and deploy HSE programs including training, hazard identification, and environmental management systems
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning
  • Establish and track key HSE metrics (KPIs) and performance dashboards
  • Analyze data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Support Ecobat’s ESG and sustainability efforts, including emissions reduction, waste minimization, and resource efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance environmental stewardship programs
  • Partner with Operations, HR, Legal, and Engineering teams to integrate HSE into daily operations
  • Represent Ecobat with regulatory agencies, auditors, and industry groups


II. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive HSE experience, including corporate or multi-site leadership
  • Experience in manufacturing, recycling, metals, or heavy industrial environments preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • CHMM or equivalent environmental certification
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations
  • Proven leadership and change management capabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with HSE systems and continuous improvement methodologies


III. Physical Requirements & Work Environment


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to talk or listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
