Job description

The ECNL is the nation’s leading youth soccer development platform. The ECNL mission to Raise the Game is a total commitment to create the best possible environment for players, coaches, referees and administrators, with a determination to constantly question convention and challenge the status quo in youth sports.

Job Summary:  The ECNLFinance and Accounting Manager is a full-time position based out of the ECNL office in Richmond, VA. The Finance and Accounting Manager will support the CFO in overseeing ECNL’s financial operations, daily accounting, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and preparation for  the annual audit and IRS Form 990.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger, execute month-end and year-end closes, and prepare accurate monthly financial statements (e.g., statements of activities, financial position) compliant with GAAP.
  • Collaborate with CFO and the ECNL Leadership Team to develop annual organizational and event-specific budgets, providing ongoing variance analysis and financial forecasting.
  • Coordinate with Event Managers to ensure event level budget to actuals are complete and accurate.
  • Oversee bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist the CFO in preparation of the annual tax-exempt organization returns for the IRS (Form 990) and state level filings.
  • Evaluate, document, and strengthen internal accounting policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's assets and prevent fraud.
  • Assist Event Operations team during soccer events (2-4 per year)
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business administration. CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive financial management experience. 3+ years inside a 501(c)(3) nonprofit preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred


Compensation:

  • Salary range $75,000-$90,000 annually
  • The ECNL will provide a smart phone and will pay for the monthly service and data plan 
  • The ECNL will provide a laptop computer which will be utilized for all work duties.
  • 401(k) after one year of employment with a percentage contribution from the league.
  • The ECNL will provide full coverage of health and dental benefits for the employee.
