Job description

Procurement Surgeon - Rank Dependent of Qualifications

The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery within the Department of Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine is actively recruiting a thoracic transplant procurement surgeon.

Individuals will join the faculty at a rank commensurate with experience. Candidates include those who are board‑certified or eligible by the ABTS, as well as those who meet criteria for licensure within the state of Utah (ECFMG certification/USMLE steps).

Responsibilities
  • Procurement of adult and pediatric hearts and lungs, including DCD donors and implementation of NRP.
  • Support ambulatory ECMO and eCPR services.
  • Actively participate in teaching thoracic surgery residents.
Qualifications
  • Board certification or eligibility by ABTS.
  • License in Utah or qualification for state licensure (ECFMG cert/USMLE).
  • Experience in thoracic transplant procurement (preferred).
