ECE Paraeducator (HS/EHS) - 4 hrs/day (Oakdale/PC#252833)
Position Summary:
Assists one or more Early Childhood teachers in the education, care, supervision, and instruction of pre-school aged children, in classrooms, common areas, and playgrounds at a center dedicated to pre-kindergarten children, and in the community. Maintains and prepares classroom and related environments, materials, and control of forms. Assists in developing play-oriented curriculum.

Salary: $19.61 - $25.94 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.

Hours: 4 hours/day; 5 days/week

Education and Experience:
Requirements for ECE Paraeducator positions under the Federal Head Start Program; High School Diploma or equivalent and a California Associate Teacher Permit (Referred by Federal head Start as "Child Development Associate Credential") or Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Licenses and Certifications:
May require a valid driver's license. Certificate or permit required as defined in the Child
Development Permit Matrix established through the California Department of Education. CPR/First Aid certificate with pediatric endorsement.
Documents (all of the following documents are required for this position):
  • Certification (California Associate Teacher Permit or AA Degree or Higher)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (With pediatric endorsement)
  • NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
  • Proof of HS Graduation (High School Diploma, High School Transcripts or Equivalent (ex: GED))
  • Resume (Provide clear evidence of required experience)
  • 6 ECE Units
