Job description

Job Title: Business Analyst - Advanced

Location: Tallahassee, FL – 100% Onsite


We’re seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major enterprise modernization initiative with our customer. This is not a documentation-only BA role. We’re looking for someone who can work directly with business users, technical teams, and external vendors throughout system rollout, production stabilization, troubleshooting, defect management, and user adoption.


What You’ll Do

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements
  • Analyze current-state workflows and identify process and system gaps
  • Support a phased rollout of a next-generation offender management platform
  • Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 application troubleshooting
  • Determine whether production issues are system defects or user/training issues
  • Translate field issues and user feedback into actionable functional requirements
  • Conduct operational gap analysis and support post-deployment stabilization
  • Work directly with external vendors to triage defects and prioritize fixes
  • Serve as a liaison among business users, technical teams, developers, and vendors
  • Support user adoption and change-management activities
  • Manage priorities across multiple concurrent projects
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and field users as needed


Required Experience

  • Strong Business Analysis and requirements elicitation experience
  • Business process and workflow analysis
  • Functional requirements documentation
  • Gap analysis and problem-solving
  • Tier 1/Tier 2 application or production support experience
  • Defect identification, troubleshooting, and issue resolution

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, OR equivalent qualifying work experience. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

  • Enterprise application modernization / legacy system replacement experience
  • Large-scale system implementation and phased rollout experience
  • Post-go-live / production stabilization / hypercare experience
  • Public-sector or government experience
  • Corrections, criminal justice, offender management, or case-management system experience
  • Agile, Scrum, or Kanban experience
  • Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or similar ALM/ticketing tools
  • Change-management and system-adoption experience
  • Experience leading workstreams or mentoring junior staff
  • ECBA, CCBA, ITIL Foundation, or related certifications
