About the team and the role:
As a Product Manager within eBay's Product Safety & Marketplace Compliance team, you will own products that help eBay meet evolving regulatory requirements while protecting the integrity of the marketplace. Your product domain spans Product Safety, Prohibited and Restricted Items, Counterfeit and Intellectual Property compliance, and other marketplace policies that govern what can be bought and sold across eBay's global markets.
You will translate complex legal, regulatory, and marketplace policy requirements into scalable product capabilities that enable compliant sellers, detect and prevent non-compliant listings, ensuring compliance without creating unnecessary friction for legitimate sellers. and maintain buyer trust while supporting business growth.
What you will accomplish:
  • Develop products and capabilities that enable eBay to meet evolving Product Safety regulations and marketplace obligations across multiple countries and jurisdictions. Design scalable governance controls that support compliance monitoring, policy enforcement, regulatory reporting, and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure these capabilities can evolve as regulations and marketplace policies change across global markets.
  • Partner with Policy, Risk, Trust, Engineering, and Data Science teams to develop automated workflows, decision frameworks, and risk detection models that identify potential Product Safety violations, improve compliance detection, seller transparency and enable consistent enforcement governance of marketplace policies.
  • Design products that improve enforcement accuracy while minimizing false positives and reducing unnecessary impact on legitimate sellers.
  • Create intuitive seller experiences that guide sellers through compliance requirements such as product eligibility, restricted product workflows, regulatory disclosures, policy clarity, and other Product Safety obligations.
  • Focus on reducing complexity by automating compliance wherever possible while providing clear guidance that helps sellers successfully complete required actions.
  • Partner with Customer Service and Operations teams to improve resolution times and reduce unnecessary seller frustration.
  • Serve as the primary Product partner for Policy, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Risk, Customer Service, Seller Experience, Global Markets, and Operations.
  • Translate changing regulations into clear product requirements, align stakeholders on implementation strategies, and ensure product capabilities can adapt as regulatory expectations evolve across different markets.

What you will bring:
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, preferably for eCommerce products with a large and global user base.
  • Experience building products in Product Safety, Compliance, Trust & Safety, Risk, Regulatory Technology, or Marketplace Governance.
  • Strong understanding of how global regulations and local market laws impact online marketplaces, seller obligations, product safety requirements, and customer protection.
  • Experience translating legal, regulatory, or policy requirements into scalable product capabilities and customer-facing experiences.
  • Familiarity with marketplace governance models, policy enforcement, risk management, and operational controls.
  • Experience balancing regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and seller experience while minimizing unnecessary friction for legitimate sellers.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Risk, Operations, Customer Service, and Engineering to deliver cross-functional product solutions.

Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$92,400 - $145,800
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
