Job description

Eaton's Power Components Division (PCD) is currently seeking a Connected Integration Engineer to join the team. This role requires up to 20% travel and can be remote within the United States or hybrid based at our facility in Moon Township, PA.
Who we are: Eaton's PCD group is a 3,300 person, $760M organization, producing various circuit breakers, vacuum interrupters, meters and relays as part of the larger (PCS) Protection, Control and Solutions.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.
Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you'll do:
The Connected Integration Engineer provides pre and post sales technical support for power and energy meters, protective relays, power distribution monitoring and control software, and related communication products. The role serves as a technical resource for customers and Electrical Group personnel by resolving moderately to highly complex technical issues, supporting installation, configuration, and data acquisition needs, and delivering effective technical explanations, demonstrations, and training.
Partnering with customers, field engineers, and internal engineering and marketing teams, this role will drive technical validation, product adoption, and incremental revenue growth across targeted markets. The Connected Integration Engineer will provide technical consultation and subject matter expertise, delivering on site customer and end user presentations to secure approval of Eaton solutions, and feeding technical insights back to internal teams to support product enhancement and expanded account penetration.
Essential Functions:
Technical Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve communication related technical issues in the field involving Eaton's connected products (meters, gateways, and associated systems). Diagnose root causes of communication failures, distinguishing Eaton product behavior from external factors such as installation practices, cabling, or third party system configuration. Travel to customer sites, as needed, to support field troubleshooting, resolve complex issues, and build customer confidence in Eaton solutions.
Systems Integration: Create and support Power Distribution Monitoring and Control (PDMC) graphics, including one line diagrams, front views, and associated communication elements. Identify, document, and communicate PDMC software defects or limitations to internal engineering teams to support corrective action and continuous improvement. Track communication drawing schedules and milestones, identify process improvement opportunities, and contribute to reducing overall turnaround time. Verify correct system operation by confirming accurate register and data population prior to handoff to third party BMS/BIS. Provide technical guidance to third party software vendors and programmers to support timely issue resolution and successful system integration.
Technical Expertise: Deliver technical training to OEM customers and other stakeholders on Eaton products, PDMC graphics creation, and communication best practices. Serve as a Tier 3 technical expert for Eaton meters, gateways, and connected products, applying best practices and learned customer use cases to enhance customer value.
Project Coordination: Coordinate communication drawings by collecting required inputs, transferring work to global resources (e.g., Pune), reviewing for accuracy, revising as needed, and delivering for sales, bidding, installation, and as built documentation. Capture and share Voice of the Customer insights to support product improvement and inform internal stakeholders.
What will make you successful?
The successful candidate brings a strong foundation in electrical power distribution and power quality, along with working knowledge of operating systems, databases, industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet), and basic networking principles. You demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, effectively diagnosing and resolving issues across integrated hardware and software systems through structured testing and replication of customer reported issues. You excel in customer service and collaboration, communicates complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, and maintains accurate documentation while managing priorities effectively.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering or related discipline OR Associate's degree in EET, Electrical or Software Engineering or related discipline with minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering
  • Prior Technical Support, Customer Service and/or Call Center experience
  • Fluent in industrial Ethernet communications (e.g. Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, SNMP, etc.)
  • Fluent in industrial fieldbus communications (e.g. Modbus RTU, BACnet/MSTP, Profibus, etc.)

All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process. All candidates will be evaluated based on job-related competencies, and all candidates' privacy rights and data security will be protected in accordance with applicable laws.
The application window for this position is anticipated to close on 6/05/2026.
