Nutrition Coach

Eating Disorder Program (RTC/PHP/IOP)

Bright Road Recovery is an innovative eating disorder treatment program with a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team. We are seeking a Nutrition Coach to support our residential (RTC), partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care.

This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys variety in their day and is comfortable stepping into multiple aspects of programming. The Nutrition Coach functions as a key support within the nutrition and clinical teams, working directly with patients in both structured and informal settings. This includes facilitating groups, supporting meal times, and assisting with kitchen operations as needed.

The position requires a strong presence on the floor, consistent patient interaction, and the ability to move between responsibilities while maintaining a calm, structured, and supportive environment. This is a hands-on role that plays an important part in reinforcing treatment goals and helping patients build a more stable and functional relationship with food.

Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate nutrition-related groups focused on meal support, food exposure, and skill-buildingProvide support during meals and snacks, including sitting with patients and reinforcing structure and expectationsOffer real-time coaching, redirection, and encouragement to patients during challenging eating momentsCollaborate with Registered Dietitians and the clinical team to reinforce individualized nutrition goalsAssist in meal preparation and provide support to kitchen staff to ensure meals and snacks are prepared and served according to program needsStep in to support nutrition assistants and kitchen operations as needed, including maintaining an organized and functional kitchen environmentSupport patients in developing practical skills related to food, meal planning, and reduction of eating disorder behaviorsMaintain appropriate boundaries and contribute to a structured, therapeutic milieu throughout programming hoursComplete documentation requirements in a timely and accurate mannerProvide coverage and support across programming as needed

Qualifications: ServSafe Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)Background in nutrition, psychology, counseling, or a related fieldExperience working with eating disorders, mental health, or in a treatment settingWorking knowledge of nutrition principles and familiarity with eating disorder recovery approachesStrong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in group settingsAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamComfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and responsibilitiesOrganized, reliable, and able to follow through on tasks independentlyProfessional, patient-centered approach to care
