Job description

ERG is a research and consulting firm that provides a wide range of support to federal, state, and commercial clients. ERG offers multidisciplinary teams with nationally recognized skills in engineering, science, economics, public health, informational technology, and communications. ERG is seeking entry-level engineers to join our team in support of both production and process engineering functions. These early-career opportunities provide the chance to apply your engineering education to real-world manufacturing and production environments while working alongside experienced engineering and manufacturing professionals. We are looking for motivated candidates who are eager to learn, solve problems, and contribute to meaningful engineering projects.

These are fulltime positions at the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head. Indian Head, MD, is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA.

Job Description
  • Perform all aspects of engineering duties in support of material and end-item production
  • Identifyand resolve production delays, such as issues related to procurement, material and part quality, and equipment breakdowns
  • Prepare, review, and edit technical documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), product technical data packages and specifications, equipment and facility drawings, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Perform engineering calculations that support process design, equipment configuration, and process condition establishment decisions for mass and energy balances, heat transfer calculations, and pump sizing
  • Assistwith developing, documenting, andoptimizingmanufacturing processes
  • Use engineering principles and data analysis to improve process efficiency, quality, and reliability
  • Support process development, testing, validation, and implementation
  • Develop andmaintainprocess documentation, procedures, and work instructions
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization projects
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™sDegree in the engineering field (aerospace, chemical,industrial, manufacturing, mechanical)
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • MinimumGPA of 3.0 (college transcriptsrequired)
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), meticulous attention to detail, highly motivated, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with limited oversight
  • Proficiencyin using spreadsheets and statistical analysis to compile, analyze, and present data
  • Coursework in or experience developing hazard analyses, risk assessments, SOPs, and other technical documentation
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
