The ideal candidate has experience working in a licensed childcare or early learning setting, understands state licensing requirements, and is passionate about supporting children’s growth—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support the lead teacher in implementing daily classroom routines and developmentally appropriate activities
  • Assist with supervision of children to ensure a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment
  • Help maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and licensing standards
  • Model Christ-like character, patience, and professionalism in all interactions
  • Support children’s social-emotional development through positive guidance and redirection
  • Communicate effectively with lead teachers and administration regarding classroom needs
  • Follow all Central Christian School policies, Oregon licensing requirements, and safety procedures
Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a licensed early childhood or childcare setting

  • Ability and willingness to comply with Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC) licensing requirements
  • Must be enrolled in Oregon’s Central Background Registry (CBR) and be in good standing
  • Ability to meet required training hours (CPR/First Aid, food handlers, and ongoing professional development)
  • Genuine love for children and a heart for Christian education
Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an infant, toddler, or preschool classroom
  • Early childhood education coursework or enrollment in an ECE program
  • Familiarity with classroom routines, ratios, and licensing documentation
Spiritual Commitment

  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with Central Christian School’s Statement of Faith
  • Willingness to support and model the school’s mission, vision, and core values
Work Schedule & Environment

  • Schedule varies based on classroom needs
  • Active role requiring standing, bending, lifting children, and engaging at floor level
  • Collaborative team environment within a licensed Early Education program
