About This Role

The Early Education Supervisor collaborates with center and management staff to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate programming in alignment with Head Start Performance Standards, state licensing rules and regulations, as well as Hoosier Uplands’ mission, policies, and goals. The position is responsible for supervising center staff and operations.


What You'll Do
  • Collect, report, and use data to inform program improvements and goals.
  • Support and promote staff wellness, professional development, and individual staff goals.
  • Provide feedback to staff through informal coaching, annual evaluations, reflective supervision, etc.
  • Use the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) to improve child outcomes, identify strengths and weaknesses, and recommend professional development. Must obtain and keep CLASS observer certification.   
  • Work with maintenance staff to ensure facilities and grounds are safe and well kept.
  • Maintain records including but not limited to Fire Marshal and State Licensing reports, health and safety checklists, injury reports, etc.
  • Collaborate with local school systems to ensure optimal transitions for families.
  • Interview and recommend center staff (Education, Cook, Transportation, etc.) to be hired.
  • Facilitate the on-boarding process for center staff.
  • Encourage family engagement in the program
  • Participate in trainings and meetings that encourage personal career development and goals, as well as best practice among education staff.
  • Assist with ordering program supplies.
  • Take an active role in team meetings to support students with challenging behaviors, their teachers, and families.
  • Monitor end of the month paperwork for accuracy.
  • Report any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect, as required by law, in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Notify Early Education Specialist of any reports made.
  • Assist with gathering and accurately documenting in-kind.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in pre-service and in-service trainings, workshops, seminars and conferences to up-date professional growth and development.
  • Create and adhere to career and position goals.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Director of Children’s Services.

Requirements
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field. 
  • Must be willing to obtain CLASS observer certification.
  • Must have a valid Indiana Driver’s License and proof of insurance. Must have a reliable personal vehicle available for use in business related travel.
  • Must submit to a criminal history background check.
  • Must obtain a physical within 30 days of hire and update every five years.
