About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Tax Accountant with public accounting experience to help oversee day-to-day client accounting work, support tax preparation, and play a key role in delivering an exceptional client experience.

This is not a back-office data-entry role.

You will work directly with business owners, review financials, solve problems, coordinate accounting workflows, assist with tax preparation, and help ensure our clients stay organized and financially informed.

You will collaborate closely with leadership and have significant visibility into how businesses operate, grow, and succeed.

What You’ll Do

Accounting & Client Services

  • Manage day-to-day accounting workflows for business clients
  • Review bookkeeping accuracy and monthly financial reporting
  • Perform account reconciliations and identify discrepancies or unusual activity
  • Assist with cleanup projects and accounting process improvements
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding missing information, questions, and recommendations
  • Help clients better understand their financial position and reporting

Tax Preparation & Support

  • Prepare business and individual tax returns (1120S, 1065, 1120, 1040)
  • Review financials for tax readiness and identify issues requiring follow-up
  • Assist in tax planning implementation and proactive client support
  • Coordinate internally to ensure efficient tax workflow and deadlines are met

Internal Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Help oversee workflow progression and client deliverables
  • Support junior team members and assist with training where appropriate
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, efficiencies, and processes
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail while balancing deadlines

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

  • 2+ years of public accounting experience (required)
  • Experience preparing tax returns for businesses and individuals
  • Strong bookkeeping and financial statement knowledge
  • Experience working with small business accounting
  • Strong client communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Experience with Lacerte or similar tax software
  • Experience with S Corporations, Partnerships, and multi-entity businesses
  • EA, CPA candidate, accounting degree, or equivalent experience
  • Tax planning exposure a plus
