A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Battlefield is a storied franchise renowned for uncompromising combat gameplay and all-out warfare, for over two decades. 100 million players and 5 billion hours played later, Battlefield Studios is defining the future of the first-person shooter with the biggest launch in franchise history with Battlefield 6, and a new era beginning with a new free-to-play universe with Battlefield REDSEC.

United under the banner of Battlefield Studios, 4 world-class teams across Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect have come together to focus on the future of the franchise, a connected Battlefield universe filled with immersive experiences built on our unique DNA.

We are looking for a Live Service Design Director to join the Ripple Effect team. You will report to the Executive Producer. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options within the Vancouver or Los Angeles area to apply.

You will oversee live design and will be responsible for both live service tuning and quality of life improvements, specializing in engagement and retention based on both telemetry and player sentiment. This role will set the standard of quality for the live service deliverables for our players.

What you'll do :

Develop and optimize design processes to champion high-quality live operations.

Drive the strategic design vision for live services to maximize long-term player engagement.

Direct the design team in building and delivering seasonal content and live events.

Guide live gameplay initiatives to evaluate, balance, and fine-tune core game systems.

Analyze player sentiment and game telemetry alongside team members to inform tuning and balance adjustments.

Collaborate with Product Management and Data leaders to map out a clear roadmap focused on key player priorities.

Balance and prioritize feature development, quality-of-life enhancements, and critical issues in partnership with craft leaders and seasonal stakeholders.

Guarantee that engagement-focused designs meet quality benchmarks while staying aligned with seasonal themes.

Mentor and inspire team designers to execute creative concepts to the highest standard.

Exchange constructive feedback with stakeholders and team members, offering actionable solutions for process and project improvements.

Take ownership of overall project quality targets and deliver measurable results.

What we looking for :

5+ years of experience leading game teams and defining design direction in a live service environment

Experience developing multiplayer games focusing on progression and player retention

Deep empathy and understanding of player needs and motivation

Demonstrated success in the gaming industry

Understanding of mass-market appeal and the ability to innovate within it
