What is an ETL test engineer?

ETL Test Engineers are professionals responsible for testing the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes in data integration projects. They ensure that data is accurately extracted from sources, properly transformed according to business rules, and correctly loaded into target databases or data warehouses. Their role involves designing test cases, identifying data issues, validating data quality, and automating testing processes to ensure data integrity and system performance. ETL Test Engineers often work closely with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to ensure reliable and error-free data movement across systems.
