1.       <\/span><\/span><\/span>Software Installation and Maintenance<\/span><\/u>: <\/span>Installing, maintaining, and supporting IBM and ISV software using tools like SMP\/E and zOSMF.<\/span>
<\/p>

2.       <\/span><\/span><\/span>Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution<\/span><\/u>: <\/span>Diagnosing and resolving complex system issues, often working with vendors, IBM Technical Support and other technical teams.<\/span>
<\/p>

3.       <\/span><\/span><\/span>System Monitoring and Tuning:<\/span><\/u> <\/span>Monitoring system performance, identifying potential problems, and implementing solutions to ensure optimal system performance and availability. Products used for monitoring include BMC Mainview, BMC AMI Command Center and Pivotor Reports.<\/span>

4.       <\/span><\/span><\/span>Security Management<\/span><\/u>: <\/span>Understanding and applying current security practices to protect the mainframe environment. Our client uses RACF for access control.<\/span>

Must Have Skills:<\/span><\/b>

1)      <\/span><\/span><\/span>z\/OS Expertise:<\/span><\/u> <\/span>Deep understanding of the z\/OS operating system and its components including but not limited to TSO, ISPF, VTAM and SDSF.  <\/span>They are on 2.4 actively working to go to 3.1.  <\/span>Your candidates need to have at least 2.4.<\/span>
<\/p>

2)      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Systems Programming Languages<\/span><\/u>: <\/span>Proficient in languages like JCL, COBOL and assembler knowledge would be a plus but not required.<\/span>
<\/p>

3)      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Hardware and Software Knowledge<\/span><\/u>: <\/span>Understanding of mainframe hardware, DASD management, virtual tape management (Luminex) and various IBM and ISV software products.<\/span>
<\/p>

4)      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Communication and Collaboration<\/span><\/u>: <\/span>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with other teams and communicate technical information effectively.<\/span>

5)      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Problem Solving and Analytical Skills<\/span><\/u>: Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.<\/span>
