Job description

The Opportunity 

Responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to the customers. Performs all tasks related to the testing, diagnosing, repair, maintenance, and reconditioning of hydraulic components and rotating assemblies on a customer site or in a shop environment. This position will be both in field and shop. 

The Role

  • Complete dismantle and inspection of components, as well as complete a comprehensive service report with accurate measurements related to these components.
  • Build, repair, service, and troubleshoot various rotating equipment assemblies and systems.
  • Tests rebuilt components or systems to acceptable results.
  • Always maintain cleanliness of shop and work area to ensure the maintenance of a safe work environment, performing various cleaning and maintenance duties as required.
  • Machining of various components on Mill and Lathe.
  • Responding to field service calls as they arrive. Potential for up to 2 weeks on site at times.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Additional responsibilities, as requested.

The Candidate

  • Must have rotating equipment experience including repairing gear boxes and process pumps
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanics, Hydraulics, Millwright, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluid Power Training, an asset.
  • Machining knowledge required (e.g., lathe, milling machine).
  • Fabrication experience and basic electrical knowledge considered an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of heavy-duty tools and equipment.
  • Must be mechanically inclined with a good learning capacity.
  • Capable of safe work practices while alone or in a team on customer site.
  • The ability to effectively communicate technical issues.
  • Service and team orientation.
