Operations e-Learning Content Creator
ABOUT THE POSITION
While reporting to the Training Manager, the Operations e-Learning Content Creator designs and creates digital learning materials, such as interactive courses, videos, and quizzes, using instructional design principles and e-learning authoring tools to make online education engaging and effective.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with subject matter experts, developing multimedia elements, incorporating feedback, ensuring content is accessible and effective, and staying current with e-learning trends and technologies and ensures content is aligned with Austin Powder Company policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Content Creation: Design, develop, and publish engaging e-learning modules, courses, and multimedia content like videos, simulations, and interactive exercises.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and refine content, and with instructional designers to align with learning objectives.
  • Instructional Design: Apply instructional design principles (ADDIE and SAM) and theories to create effective learning experiences
  • Multimedia Development: Create graphics, audio, video, and other interactive elements to enhance the learning experience.
  • Quality Assurance: Test and troubleshoot e-learning modules for functionality, user experience, and compatibility with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Content Maintenance: Update and revise existing content based on feedback, assessment results, and evolving educational standards.
  • Technology Proficiency: Utilize various e-learning authoring tools and platforms to build and implement content including authoring tool within Docebo, Articulate 360, Captivate, and Kahoot!.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency with essential computer applications and maintain a high level of knowledge and competence with related compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by assuring regulatory compliance as well as compliance with all company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's or associate degree. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Kahoot!).
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and e-learning theories (Addie, SAM).
  • Strong understanding of multimedia development and graphic design.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including SMEs, designers, and developers.
  • Strong communication skills for gathering requirements and providing feedback.
  • Technical skills for troubleshooting and ensuring platform compatibility.
  • Experience in Federal Regulatory preferred, not required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Travel will be <10%
  • Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time while frequently typing, viewing computer screens and use of mouse/keyboard.
  • Operation of office equipment to include but not limited to telephones, printers, copiers, and scanners.
  • Repetitive motion of data entry, hand, finger wrist motion and dexterity.
  • May include filing and handling paperwork may involve repetitive reaching, grasping, or bending.
  • Light lifting and carrying of office supplies, files, or boxes (generally under 25 lbs.).
  • May need to set up for meetings (moving chairs, refreshments, etc.).
  • Will require walking and standing during the office hours, during events, meeting setup etc.
  • Good vision for reading and screen use.
  • Clear verbal communication and active listening, often over the phone or video calls.

Location
  • Beachwood, OH
  • Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm ET. Currently, operating under a hybrid schedule with in-office days M-T-W and remote on Thursday and Friday. The hybrid schedule is subject to change at any time and is not guaranteed based on the needs of the executive.
