Come join us-everyone is welcome at our camp!ABOUT THE POSITIONGathr Outdoors is seeking a highly capable, hands-on Director, Ecommerce Operations to lead the operational engine supporting our growing ecommerce business across Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Amazon, and other digital marketplaces.Reporting to the Senior Director, Ecommerce, this leader will sit at the intersection of ecommerce operations, technology, project management, and cross-functional execution. The Director will ensure priorities move from idea to implementation, technical and operational issues are resolved quickly, and internal teams, developers, agencies, and technology partners remain aligned against the most important work.The ideal candidate is a strong ecommerce operator with the technical fluency to translate business needs into clear requirements, manage technical and operational backlogs, coordinate developers and external partners, oversee QA and releases, troubleshoot issues across ecommerce systems and integrations, and drive projects through completion.This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is comfortable operating in a technically complex ecommerce environment and serving as the connective tissue between business stakeholders and technical resources.RESPONSIBILITIESEcommerce OperationsOwn the day-to-day operating rhythm across key ecommerce platforms and initiatives, with an initial emphasis on DTC, Amazon, and marketplace operations.Ensure critical ecommerce activities, site updates, promotions, catalog changes, integrations, and operational projects are executed accurately and on time.Identify operational bottlenecks, establish scalable processes, and drive issues through resolution.Develop clear ownership, workflows, and escalation paths across internal teams and external partners.Serve as a central point of coordination for ecommerce operational issues that span multiple teams or systems.Help establish consistent operating processes across brands while recognizing unique business and platform needs.Technical Project & Backlog ManagementOwn and manage the ecommerce technical and operational backlog, including intake, prioritization, dependencies, timelines, and status communication.Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements for developers, agencies, and technology partners.Partner with business stakeholders to assess effort, impact, and urgency and ensure resources remain focused on the highest-priority work.Lead technical and operational projects from requirements gathering through development, QA/UAT, deployment, and post-launch validation.Maintain visibility into active work, upcoming priorities, blockers, and resource constraints.Establish a clear intake and prioritization process for enhancement requests, bugs, operational needs, and technical issues.Ensure urgent issues are appropriately triaged without allowing reactive work to overwhelm strategic priorities.Create clear documentation around decisions, requirements, ownership, and project status.Ecommerce Technology & IntegrationsDevelop a strong working understanding of Gathr Outdoors' ecommerce technology ecosystem, including Shopify, marketplace platforms, third-party applications, feeds, analytics and tracking technologies, and other integrations.Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of issues across internal resources, developers, agencies, and external technology providers.Manage technology and integration-related vendor escalations and ensure issues remain actively owned through resolution.Partner with developers and agencies on Shopify enhancements, integrations, technical maintenance, and ongoing site improvements.Understand data flows and dependencies across ecommerce systems and help identify the root cause of operational or technical issues.Help identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.Ensure appropriate documentation exists for critical systems, integrations, configurations, processes, and recurring technical activities.Help reduce single points of failure by establishing backup processes, documentation, and external or internal support coverage.Agency, Developer & Vendor ManagementServe as a primary operational partner to external developers, agencies, and ecommerce technology vendors.Establish clear scopes, priorities, timelines, and expected outcomes for external technical resources.Manage ongoing work allocation and ensure agency and development capacity is aligned with business priorities.Hold external partners accountable for responsiveness, quality, and delivery.Coordinate communication between business teams and technical resources to ensure requirements and expectations are clear.Help determine when work should be handled internally versus through an external partner or specialist.Support onboarding and knowledge transfer for new developers, agencies, or technology partners as needed.Site Operations & Quality AssuranceOversee the operational health and readiness of Gathr Outdoors ecommerce properties.Coordinate site releases, functionality changes, promotional updates, and other technically dependent ecommerce initiatives.Establish effective QA/UAT processes and ensure changes are appropriately tested before deployment.Support issue triage related to site functionality, checkout, payments, integrations, tracking, marketplace connections, and other ecommerce systems.Partner with Marketing, Merchandising, Customer Experience, and other teams to ensure digital experiences operate as intended.Develop clear escalation processes for production issues and other business-critical ecommerce problems.Ensure site issues, defects, and enhancement requests are documented, prioritized, and tracked through resolution.Marketplace & Cross-Channel OperationsSupport operational execution across Amazon and other marketplace channels, including catalog, content, feeds, integrations, and related systems.Partner with channel owners to identify operational or technical issues that may affect product availability, customer experience, or sales.Help coordinate marketplace-related projects that require support across multiple systems or functions.Drive consistency in operating processes and issue resolution across DTC and marketplace environments where appropriate.Cross-Functional LeadershipWork closely with Ecommerce, Marketing, Creative, Analytics, Customer Experience, IT, Supply Chain, Finance, and Brand teams to move priorities forward.Create clarity around ownership, sequencing, and dependencies for cross-functional initiatives.Communicate risks, tradeoffs, resource constraints, and project status clearly to stakeholders and leadership.Bring structure and accountability to complex projects involving multiple teams.Help business teams understand technical constraints, dependencies, and implications when making prioritization decisions.Build repeatable operating processes that allow the ecommerce business to scale without creating unnecessary complexity.QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS7+ years of experience in ecommerce, ecommerce operations, technical project management, digital operations, or a related field, with experience leading increasingly complex responsibilities.Proven experience leading and developing teams, including direct people management responsibilities, while effectively influencing and driving alignment across cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed organization.Strong working knowledge of modern ecommerce platforms and ecosystems; Shopify / Shopify Plus experience strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience managing ecommerce development projects, integrations, agencies, or technical vendors.Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand systems, integrations, APIs, data flows, and application dependencies without needing to be a hands-on developer.Experience translating business requirements into actionable work for developers and technical teams.Demonstrated experience managing roadmaps, backlogs, priorities, and competing stakeholder requests.Experience leading QA/UAT and supporting ecommerce releases or implementations.Experience working across DTC and marketplace environments preferred.Strong project management skills with an ability to drive complex initiatives through completion.Highly organized, resourceful, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.Proven ability to identify problems, establish ownership, and drive issues to resolution.Ability to operate effectively at both a strategic and highly hands-on level.PREFERRED EXPERIENCEExperience supporting multiple ecommerce brands or storefronts.Experience managing Shopify Plus development, integrations, or agency partners.Familiarity with
