GSM Outdoors is looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Ecommerce Specialist to support the day-to-day execution of our direct-to-consumer ecommerce business across our fishing brands. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing products, promotions, and brand experiences to life online and takes pride in creating polished, accurate, and engaging digital experiences.


Working closely with the Senior Ecommerce Manager and cross-functional partners, the Ecommerce Specialist will help manage product detail pages, digital merchandising, email marketing campaigns, online promotions, and ecommerce projects. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in the details, managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and translating brand and product strategies into effective digital execution.


Position Summary

The Ecommerce Specialist supports the Senior Ecommerce Manager in the daily management and execution of GSM Outdoors' direct-to-consumer ecommerce websites for our fishing brands. This position is responsible for maintaining and optimizing product detail pages, supporting digital merchandising initiatives, creating and scheduling email campaigns, executing online promotions, and coordinating ecommerce projects and deadlines.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical and digital marketing skills with exceptional attention to detail, organization, and a hands-on approach to ecommerce execution.


What You'll Do


Ecommerce & Digital Merchandising

  • Support the day-to-day maintenance and optimization of GSM Outdoors' direct-to-consumer ecommerce websites.
  • Create, update, and maintain product detail pages, ensuring product information, descriptions, imagery, pricing, merchandising, and promotional content are accurate and up to date.
  • Set up new products, product variations, pricing, categories, attributes, and related ecommerce content.
  • Review product pages for accuracy, consistency, functionality, and overall customer experience.
  • Support digital merchandising strategies designed to improve product visibility, engagement, conversion, and sales.
  • Assist with website content updates, promotional placements, landing pages, and other ecommerce initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product presentation and the overall online shopping experience.

Email Marketing

  • Build, design, test, schedule, and deploy email marketing campaigns using Klaviyo.
  • Develop engaging email content that aligns with brand messaging, product launches, promotions, seasonal campaigns, and business objectives.
  • Support audience segmentation and personalization to improve campaign relevance and performance.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of automated email flows.
  • Conduct quality assurance and testing prior to campaign deployment, including links, images, product information, formatting, and personalization.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide reporting and insights on key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, engagement, and conversions.
  • Recommend opportunities to improve email performance based on campaign results and customer behavior.

Promotions & Campaign Execution

  • Support the execution of ecommerce promotions, product launches, seasonal campaigns, and other digital initiatives.
  • Set up and validate promotional pricing, discounts, merchandising placements, and related website content.
  • Coordinate promotional assets and deadlines with internal teams and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure ecommerce campaigns are launched accurately and on schedule.
  • Conduct post-launch reviews to identify issues, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Project Coordination

  • Support ecommerce projects from planning through execution, tracking deliverables, deadlines, and dependencies.
  • Use Monday.com to organize project tasks, timelines, priorities, and status updates.
  • Coordinate with Ecommerce, Marketing, Brand, Product, Creative, and other cross-functional teams to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Communicate project updates, outstanding items, and potential delays to the Senior Ecommerce Manager.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Reporting & Optimization

  • Assist with ecommerce and email marketing reporting and performance analysis.
  • Monitor website and campaign performance to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
  • Use data and performance insights to recommend improvements to product merchandising, promotions, email campaigns, and digital experiences.
  • Maintain accurate ecommerce content and documentation.

Team Collaboration

  • Partner with Brand, Marketing, Creative, Product, and other teams to ensure ecommerce content accurately reflects brand and product strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to gather information and complete ecommerce initiatives.
  • Proactively identify issues and work collaboratively to resolve them.
  • Support the Senior Ecommerce Manager with additional ecommerce initiatives and projects as needed.

Requirements

What You'll Bring

  • 2-4 years of experience in ecommerce, digital merchandising, email marketing, digital retail, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with ecommerce platforms; WooCommerce experience is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms; Klaviyo experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with project management and collaboration platforms such as Monday.com; comparable platforms may be considered.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, or comparable productivity platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.

Technical & Functional Knowledge

  • Experience working with digital merchandising, ecommerce analytics, website content management, or promotional campaign execution is preferred.

Education & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Ecommerce, Marketing, Business, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience will be considered.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in ecommerce, digital merchandising, email marketing, digital retail, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting direct-to-consumer ecommerce websites is strongly preferred.
  • Experience within the fishing, outdoor, sporting goods, consumer products, or retail industries is a plus.
