Job Description

Dynamic Integrated Security (DIS) is seeking a highly qualified Armed Safe School Officer (SSO) to support school safety operations in Manatee, Florida. This position is ideal for experienced law enforcement professionals who are committed to protecting students, faculty, and staff in an educational environment.

Selected candidates will attend the Sheriff's Training Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, as part of a paid training program before assuming full operational duties.

Academy Training Details
  • Training Start Date: August 2026
  • Training Duration: 5.5 Weeks
  • Training Status: Paid
  • Compensation
  • $15.00/hour during academy training
  • $22.00/hour upon successful graduation
  • $24.00/hour after successful completion of the 90day probationary period

    Position Duties
  • Enforce school security procedures and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, threats, and critical incidents.
  • Conduct routine patrols and monitor school grounds for potential security concerns.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness drills and safety exercises.
  • Complete incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
  • Deescalate conflicts and intervene when necessary to maintain campus safety.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with school administrators, staff, students, and law enforcement partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, school district regulations, and applicable Florida laws.

    Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years of sworn law enforcement experience required.
  • Prior experience in corrections, military service, emergency response, or security operations is a plus; however, law enforcement experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong firearms proficiency and tactical training background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in both indoor and outdoor environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in highpressure situations.
  • Must be available to work fulltime, onsite, and scheduled 8hour shifts.

    Required Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid Florida Class "D" Security Officer License.
  • Valid Florida Class "G" Statewide Firearm License.
  • Valid Concealed Weapon (CCW).
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

    Additional Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must successfully pass a preemployment drug screening in accordance with Florida Statute 112.0455.
  • Must successfully pass a psychological evaluation in accordance with Chapter 490, Florida Statutes.
  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation.
  • Must provide and maintain the following duty equipment: oPersonal firearm
  • Duty belt oLevel III retention holster
  • Minimum of five (5) magazines
