Job description

The Lufkin State Supported Living Center (SSLC) is seeking a Physician to join an interdisciplinary team of professionals to provide clinical care to residents of the SSLC. As a State Supported Living Physician, you will work at the SSLC campus with a dynamic group of staff and professionals who are dedicated to providing supports and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a team environment where staff clinicians collaborate to provide comprehensive care and services. The Staff Physician at the State Supported Living Center (SSLC) is responsible for the effective delivery of high quality medical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities served by HHSC State Supported Living Centers. Work involves direct delivery of clinical practices and monitoring of medical services, participating in treatment team process, advocating for the medical needs of individuals served, and working with the individuals families, Family Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistant(s) and with consultants and community medical providers in other medical specialty areas. This position reports directly to the Medical Director of the State Supported Living Center and works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Provides treatment to HHS employees injured in course and scope of employment.
