Currently, we are seekinga Senior Staff Mechanical Analysis Engineer to contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment. As a Senior Staff Mechanical Analysis Engineer,you willbe responsible forleading and overseeing the mechanical analysis team at Lunar Outpost.This is a key leadership role requiring deep technicalexpertiseand a proactive approach to team development in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality analytical modelsof vehicles/mobility platforms
  • Perform mechanical analysis (Loads, Stress, Fatigue/Fracture, Dynamics,Vibration,etc.)in quick-turn, rapid development environment
  • Interact with mechanical engineering design team to rapidly iterate and improve designs as informed by analysis
  • Interact with project management and company leadership todeterminetimelines, schedule tasks, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Contribute tostandardization of practices and procedures within themechanicalanalysis team
  • Writetechnical reports detailing analysis processes, results, and recommendations
  • Allocate team resourcesand delegate analysis tasks to team members, supportingmultipleprojects andanalysis efforts
  • Oversee work performed to ensure high-quality workproducts
  • Understand analysis requirements and ensure analysis is performed in compliance with applicable Lunar Outpost and NASA standards
  • Generate applicable loading profilestobe communicated to vendors and stakeholders
  • Prepare and presentmaterials for Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR),Failure Review Boards (FRB),and Critical Design Reviews (CDR)
  • Collaboratewith NASA Insight membersinrecurring workinggroup sessions

Required Qualifications:

  • BachelorsDegreein Mechanical Engineeringor related discipline
  • 10+ years ofapplicable experienceperforming mechanical analysis on spaceflightsystems
  • Experience leading analysis teams
  • ExpertiseFinite Element Modelingsoftware
  • Proficiencyininterpretingvarious loading profiles and test data
  • Familiaritywithdynamic/kinematic analysis techniques
  • Familiarity withrelated NASAandgovernmentspecificationsand standards
  • Familiarity withfatigue andfracturestandards, considerations, classifications, and analysis methods
  • Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet criticaldeadlines
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
