Job description

Therm-x of California is the leading manufacturer for Advanced Temperature and Control Systems for Hi-Technology industries. We have been in business for over 30 years and have a diverse customer base. We offer competitive pay, medical, dental, 401 (K), and paid time off.

We are seeking skilled CNC Machinists at all levels (I–III and Senior) with hands-on experience operating and maintaining various machines. This position is located at our Modesto facility for both swing and day shifts. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills according to job requirements
  • Work with multi-axis and mill/turn equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and setup sheets
  • Install tooling, set work offsets, load programs, and make adjustments as needed
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes for quality and efficiency
  • Maintain machines and keep the work area clean and organized
  • Collaborate with programming, quality, and production teams

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience
  • Proven setup and operation experience on the following machines (or similar):
    • Doosan CNC Lathe – PUMA 2600SY II
    • Doosan CNC Lathe – LINX 2100LSY
    • Mazak Integrex J-300 (multi-axis mill/turn)
    • Doosan DVF 5000 – 5-axis CNC mill
    • Okuma MU6300VL – 5-axis (6APC is a plus)
    • YCM Vertical Mill
    • Haas VFSS
  • Strong understanding of G-code, tooling, and cutting parameters
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering prints
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience with complex setups and tight tolerances
  • Knowledge of live tooling and simultaneous multi-axis machining

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
