Duke Cancer Center North Durham, part of the Duke Cancer Institute, is a community-based outpatient oncology center within Duke Regional Hospital. Manage and supervise functions of assigned patient care area on a 24 hour basis; ensure effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures.

Serve as a professional role model and mentor to staff by responding positively to change while supporting colleagues through the change process. Serve as a change agent to facilitate communication and transition that supports the mission of the organization. Ensure a unit-based work force that is diverse and cognizant of the value diversity brings to the workplace. Assure coordination/participation of unit based staff on department and organization wide councils/committees. Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures designed to improveoperational efficiency. Coordinate QC/PI activities with appropriate staff. Oversee various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, terminations and other related activities. Ensure documentation of patient care is complete and accurate in accordance with hospital and unit policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations to determine fiscal requirements of assigned unit(s), and prepare budgetary recommendations. Monitor the level of resources utilized in service delivery and determines the appropriateness of resource consumption in the service. Develop action plans in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Operations to ensure budget and resource efficiency, and satisfaction with patient care delivery.
