Black Mountain Ranch is seeking a talented, motivated Sous Chef / Chef to join our culinary team immediately at one of Colorado’s premier dude ranch destinations.

Located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, between two of North America’s finest ski resorts, this is an opportunity to live and work in an incredible mountain setting while being part of a fun, hardworking, hospitality-driven crew.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on culinary leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and enjoys variety in service styles. Our food program includes a mix of:

  • Buffet service
  • Plated dinner service
  • Outdoor ranch events and special functions
  • Daily guest and staff meal preparation
  • High-volume hospitality service in a unique ranch environment

We serve everything from breakfast buffets and lunch specials to plated dinners, themed buffets, barbecues, and special outdoor events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading daily kitchen operations
  • Execute buffet and plated meal service with consistency and quality
  • Prepare food for ranch events, outdoor dining, and specialty functions
  • Support prep schedules, menu execution, and kitchen organization
  • Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff
  • Help create a positive, efficient team culture

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Sous Chef, Chef, or strong line cook in a leadership role
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Experience with both high-volume and plated service preferred
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and motivated
  • Passion for hospitality and guest experience

Compensation & Schedule

  • $20–$25 per hour (DOE)
  • End-of-season bonus
