What is a duct installer helper?

Duct Installer Helpers assist experienced duct installers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of air ducts in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Their tasks often include measuring, cutting, and assembling ductwork, as well as carrying materials and tools to job sites. They may also help seal joints, ensure proper insulation, and clean work areas. This entry-level position provides valuable on-the-job training and is a common starting point for a career in HVAC installation or repair.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a duct installer helper?

To thrive as a Duct Installer Helper, you need basic mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand and power tools, as well as safety certifications like OSHA 10, are commonly required.
