About the Job 

A Massage Therapist at the Body Sage Spa cultivates meaningful connections and builds professional relationships with clients while delivering personalized treatments for memorable experiences and transformative results.   

Qualifications and Skills 

As a Massage Therapist at a well-known, high-end spa, a high level of expertise in a range of modalities including deep tissue, Swedish and sports massage is vital. Using a strong knowledge of anatomy, indications and contraindications, therapists ensure safe and effective treatments tailored to each client’s needs. Following professional and ethical guidelines, therapists further create a comfortable and healing environment through active listening, innovative approaches and additional modalities. Collaborating with team members, completing administrative tasks and side-work efficiently, and demonstrating punctuality and professionalism in all interactions are also key aspects of the therapist’s role. To further enhance the spa's offerings, massage therapists are actively encouraged to expand their skill set and explore new treatment protocols through ongoing education and professional development opportunities. 


Responsibilities 

  • Provide exceptional, customized massage and body treatments 
  • Engage in active listening and develop tailored treatment plans for individual sessions as well as ongoing therapy programs  
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered  
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available  
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law as well as spa policies and procedures  
  • Properly care for equipment and use proper products amounts to help with cost control  
  • Perform prep work well, properly clean, and ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment 
  • Communicate staff or guest-related issues to management immediately  
  • Develop professional and personalized relationships with returning guests  
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously  
  • Maintain complete confidentiality in all guest matters in accordance with company policy and document guest information in electronic record as directed  
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment  
  • Regularly attend, participate in, and support training and staff meetings for the spa 

    Requirements 

    • Due to a lack of licensing requirements in the state of Wyoming, we require a valid massage license from another state 
    • Ideally at least two years of experience; exceptions may be made on an individual basis according to skill and expertise 
    • Exceptional English communication skills 
    • Proven ability to learn new software 
    • Ability to occasionally lift 25 pounds and to move quickly through the facility as needed 
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimally a high school graduate or equivalent 
    • Current first-aid and CPR certification (can be obtained after start date)
