Job Title: Bilingual (English-Spanish) SETSS Teacher
Report to: Principal

About the Role
The SETSS Teacher is a dedicated and goal-oriented professional who develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities as mandated in their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). This individual regularly evaluates student progress while following mandated procedures and functions.
Position Responsibilities
  • Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student's IEP.
  • Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
  • Develops and implements annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals.
  • Establishes a positive learning experience with emphasis on individualized instruction using appropriate sources.
  • Provides consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptions, instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior modification plans, and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Actively participates in MTSS meetings for RTB and RTI initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
  • Act in a professional and ethical manner at all times and comply with school policies, procedures, and expectations.

Compensation
The starting compensation for this role is between $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year. The starting salary will depend on multiple factors including professional experience, education, and certifications. This role is a full-time position.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1-3 years of elementary teaching experience working with SPED students with measurable results.
  • Valid NYS Special Education Teaching Certification or currently on the pathway to certification required.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish languages.
  • Firm commitment to student academic progress.
  • Motivation to work as part of a team and possess a strong sense of personal responsibility.
  • Ability and desire to receive and implement feedback from the leadership team and colleagues to drive professional growth.
