Your Opportunity: Taylor DM Brands, a Taylor Corporation company, is looking for an Equipment Operator to join our team in Amsterdam, NY to run the Kornit Atlas Max direct-to-garment apparel printer.
Work Authorization: To be considered for Taylor opportunities, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
Your Shift: 1st Shift; Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
Your Responsibilities
  • Operate the Kornit Atlas Max DTG printer to produce decorated apparel per work order, schedule, and standard procedures.
  • Load/unload garments, verify blank style/size/color, and ensure correct job is produced to the approved artwork/specs.
  • Start, monitor, and complete print runs; watch for defects and maintain consistent output during production.
  • Perform in-process quality checks and document results; escalate quality concerns quickly.
  • Accurately complete required production reporting (counts, scrap, reprints, downtime notes) in the appropriate system or log.
  • Follow standardized work instructions, checklists, and quality standards to ensure repeatable results.
  • Verify print placement, color appearance, and overall finish meets customer requirements before releasing product downstream.
  • Maintain clean, organized work area (5S mindset) to support quality and safety.
  • Perform routine daily/shift maintenance (cleaning, inspections, and basic upkeep) per posted procedures; keep the printer area "audit ready."
  • Monitor and support ink/consumable readiness (levels, refills/changes as trained) and handle waste disposal per safety/environmental requirements.
  • Identify printer issues early; complete basic troubleshooting as trained and escalate to Maintenance/Engineering when needed.
  • Use required PPE and comply with all site safety requirements at all times.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, prepress/art, and downstream operations to keep orders moving and minimize rework.
  • Communicate downtime, defects, and material constraints clearly so the team can react quickly.

You Must Have
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Comfortable learning to operate production equipment under the direction of trained operators/technicians.
  • Basic computer skills (open/close jobs, enter production counts, follow on-screen instructions).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Requirements Within This position

  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
  • Frequently required to move inside the facility
  • Regularly move up to 50+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)

We Would Also Prefer
  • Experience in manufacturing, printing, apparel decoration, or production environments.
  • Familiarity with inks/pigments, basic color/print concepts, or print quality inspection.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in troubleshooting equipment issues.

Training & Onboarding
  • Structured on-the-job training provided for: printer operation, quality standards, routine maintenance, safety/PPE, and basic troubleshooting. (Role is intended for an entry-level hire to build skills through training and experience.)

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $16.00. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation's total compensation and benefits package for employee.
