Summary Under the general direction of the Quality Supervisor, the Designated Supplier Quality Representative Apprentice is responsible for ensuring compliance to customer and STS drawings. Reviews and creates First Article Inspection Reports that are in compliance with customer & AS9102 requirements. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Candidates must possess an advanced to expert understanding of quality processes (Internal Procedures, ISO 9001, etc.). Must be able to use various precision equipment as prescribed in Inspection Levels I and II, perform all forms of mechanical inspection, and provide technical assistance to subordinate inspectors, QEs, and MEs when required.

  • Meets/exceeds (Demonstrates Mastery) all the provisions of level III inspector
  • Possesses an expert-level understating of internal manufacturing processes
  • Possesses an expert-level understanding of mechanical inspection
  • Advanced knowledge of OSP acceptance criteria (silver plate, anodize, epoxy paints, DFL, etc.)
  • Expert level skill/experience working with metrology equipment
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to prepare and execute AS 9102 FAIโ€™s
  • Interfaces and or be a member of the First Article Inspection Report, Action, Support Team
  • Any other job-related activities as directed
  • Ability to train Level I/II/ Inspectors
  • Shall obtain AS13001 in preparation for DSQR advancement
  • Meets productivity and accuracy of work standards, completes work promptly, and strives to improve productivity
  • Follows through on commitments.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement: to improve efficiency, safety, quality, production, and cost.
  • Maintains and promotes a clean, FOD-free, and organized work area
  • Safety-minded and adheres to all company policies and practices and safe work habits. Actively involved in identifying safety issues, making suggestions, and implementing safety improvements.
  • Has a can-do attitude. Approaches others tactfully and respectfully. Reacts well under pressure.
  • Effectively communicates via spoken and written means one-on-one and in group settings
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma/Equivalent with 1-3 years (min 6 months) previous experience as a Level II Inspector (Or equivalent Mechanical Inspection experience). Associates degree/Certificate in a technical discipline may be used in place of experience.
