The Skilled Tradesperson performs work in the major technical trades. This position will perform physical labor tasks for construction projects, including ground-up, remodels, retrofits, and repairs to interior and exterior structures. This position will operate various hand and power tools associated with the assigned task. Task include (but are not limited to): plumbing, electrical, concrete, flooring, roofing, painting, framing, drywall, and finishing skills for doors, windows, cabinetry, install of fixtures including windows, roofing, floorings, trim, tile, ceiling tile, and hardware. The specific on-site tasks are related to the needs and duties of each project.

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs technical tasks in trades, including plumbing, electrical, concrete, flooring, roofing, painting, framing, drywall, and finishing skills for doors, windows, and cabinetry. Install fixtures including windows, roofing, floorings, trim, tile, ceiling tile, hardware, heating, and ventilation.
  • Performs framing tasks including wood/metal, drywall, fiberglass reinforced plastic, and T-Bar.
  • Operates and maintains tools and equipment, including (but not limited to): drills, saws, nail guns, hammers, and shovels.
  • Responsible for executing tasks involving physical labor, as needed.
  • Travels to different worksites to complete required tasks and projects.
  • Projects may require a response to 24/7 emergency coverage.
  • Maintains a clean job site to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Responsible for working safely, adhering to all aspects of our Health, Safety, and Environmental Program for self-protection and protection of co-workers, sub-contractors, the public, and customer representatives.
  • Organizes building material; loads and unloads trucks.
  • May be responsible for assisting other workers on construction and preconstruction assignments.
  • Reads instructions, specifications, and plans to determine work activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Knowledge and general trade experience preferred in the major trades: plumbing, electrical, concrete, flooring, roofing, painting, framing, drywall, and finishing skills for doors, windows, and cabinetry.

  • Possesses tools required to perform job functions.
