Job description
- Measure, cut, and hang drywall sheets accurately according to construction plans and schematics
- Secure drywall panels using hand tools and power tools such as drills, screw guns, and taping knives
- Apply drywall mud (joint compound) to seams, corners, and screw holes for a seamless finish
- Tape joints and sand surfaces to prepare for painting or texturing
- Perform drywall repairs and restoration work, including water damage remediation and mold remediation when necessary
- Texture walls and ceilings using various techniques such as spray or hand troweling to achieve desired finishes
- Install metal stud framing, trim carpentry, door hanging, fixture installation, and other related tasks to support drywall installation
- Follow construction safety regulations diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols on-site
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately to interpret project requirements
- Assist with other construction tasks such as plastering, stucco application, flooring installation, tile laying, masonry work, or remodeling projects as needed
- Proven construction experience with a focus on drywall installation and finishing processes
- Familiarity with construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings
