Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Site Management: Oversee daily operations for drywall hanging, taping, bed and coat mudding, sanding, and priming on job sites.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous checks for proper hanging alignment, joint tape application, mud feathering, level finishes (Level 1–5), sanding smoothness, and uniform primer coverage before sign-off.
  • Material & Equipment Logistics: Track usage of drywall sheets, compound/mud, tape, corner beads, and primer; coordinate equipment maintenance (drywall lifts, automatic tapers, texture machines, sprayers).
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce job site safety standards, including proper dust containment, ventilation, eye protection, and respirator use during sanding and spray operations.
  • Client & PM Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for Site Supervisors and General Contractors on-site to address punch-list items, schedule shifts, and manage change orders.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in drywall hanging, finishing/mudding, and priming, with at least 2+ years in a lead or supervisor role.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of board placement, joint compound applications, automatic taping tools (Bazooka/boxes), dust control methods, airless spray primers, and drywall finishes (specifically Level 4 and Level 5).
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to detect framing inconsistencies, moisture issues, or surface defects prior to finishing and resolve them efficiently.
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to walk sites, climb scaffolding/ladders, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
