Job description

The Facility Technician will comply with all federal, state, local laws, and regulations as well as the Employer's safety policies and directives. In a safe manner Facility Technicians will perform the following skilled and technical duties and directives in a safe and efficient manner:

  • Operate and maintain boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, generators, and all appurtenant equipment driven by steam, air, diesel, gas, water, or any other power developing energy.
  • Perform facility rounds on equipment and maintains all mechanical, HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems, and equipment.
  • Repairs and replaces toilet and water closet components, sinks, faucets, soap dispensers, and paper towel dispensers.
  • Repairs and replaces tile and grout, as appropriate.
  • Maintains lighting fixtures by replacing lights, ballasts, drivers, etc.
  • Replace carpet squares as required by the facility.
  • Perform water treatment on cooling towers, chilled water, boiler water, etc.
  • Maintain and coordinate repair of refrigeration compressors, condensers, evaporators, and all appurtenant components used to remove heat from the facility.
  • Operate and maintain boilers, hot water pumps, and appurtenance components used to add heat to the facility.
  • Facilitate the maintenance and coordinate repair of natural gas distribution lines and associated components.
  • Operate and maintain water filters, softeners, piping, expansion tanks, and pumps used in water distribution.
  • Operate and maintain water supply lines, drains, water lines, control devices, and sprinkler systems.
  • Operate and maintain electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors, generators, and fans.
  • Operate and maintain all fuel oil system components.
  • Operate using an energy/ building management/automation system.
  • Operate and maintain safety related equipment.
  • Maintain inventory control for parts and materials required to perform the maintenance and repairs to the onsite facility systems.
  • Maintains and repairs the physical condition of mechanical, and facility shop spaces.
  • Paints and patches drywall as appropriate.
  • Repairs property owned furniture using glue and clamps.

Preferred Experience and Certifications

  • Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electrical, HVAC, or related field.
  • OSHA 10
  • Weekly Fire Pump Test Certificate preferred
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification preferred.
