Position Description
The Construction Laborer (union) is responsible for performing general construction, concrete removal, and interior demolition tasks in support of field operations. This includes operating basic power tools, driving company trucks, and assisting equipment operators or working independently on-site. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, and able to work in physically demanding environments. This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Laborers union. Will be required to join the union and maintain membership in good standing. Current union members welcome to apply. Pay rate is union scale.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist saw operators with cutting tasks and remove concrete and asphalt using tools such as burke bars, jackhammers, or two-wheel dollies.
  • Perform demolition work, including removing drywall, metal/wood stud walls, drop ceilings, pipes, and conduit.
  • Work with crews or independently to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately read and interpret job tickets, safety plans, and complete daily job safety pre-task plans.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with dispatch and supervisors regarding job progress and needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and care for tools and equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety and OSHA standards.
  • Travel as needed for out-of-town assignments on occasion.

Position Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience using pneumatic and electric jackhammers, rivet busters, and power tools.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with strong situational awareness.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team or independently.
  • Strong verbal communication and understanding of job site documentation.

  • Able to lift and move 45 lbs. or more regularly.
  • Must be able to work day shifts, nights, weekends, and occasional out-of-town travel.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy materials for extended periods.
