Job description

Home Ventilation Repair & Dryer Vent Specialist

Lawson Home Services is Delmarva's trusted leader in home performance, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality. We help homeowners create safer, healthier, more comfortable homes through insulation, crawl space repair, duct sealing, radon mitigation, and professional dryer vent services.

We are expanding and hiring a Home Ventilation Repair & Dryer Vent Specialist โ€” a role that combines hands-on technical work with customer communication and system upgrades. This position is not "just cleaning." Our technicians inspect, diagnose, recommend improvements, and provide on-site repairs that make homes safer and dryers more efficient.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect dryer vent systems for airflow restrictions, incorrect materials, safety hazards, code issues, or installation problems
  • Use professional equipment to clean dryer vents of lint, debris, and obstructions
  • Provide homeowners with clear recommendations to improve safety, performance, and energy efficiency
  • Perform on-site upgrades and repairs, including:
    • Replacing damaged or improper venting
    • Correcting long or inefficient duct runs
    • Installing proper metal venting
    • Upgrading exterior terminations
    • Sealing connections and optimizing airflow
  • Communicate professionally with customers, explaining issues and solutions in an easy-to-understand way
  • Document photos, notes, and materials used through our mobile field app
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Assist with related home-performance tasks as training allows (duct sealing, insulation, IAQ improvements)

What Makes This Role Different

Our Dryer Vent Specialists do more than clean โ€” they solve problems and improve homes. Technicians routinely complete venting replacements, corrections, and termination upgrades, and more than half of appointments result in meaningful system improvements.

If you like fixing things, diagnosing issues, working with tools, and helping homeowners solve real problems, this is a great fit.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand/power tools
  • Ability to work in tight spaces (attics, crawl spaces, behind dryers)
  • Strong communication skills โ€” confident speaking with homeowners
  • Goal-oriented mindset with the ability to recommend solutions
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Physically able to lift equipment and perform manual labor
  • Experience in HVAC, maintenance, construction, or home services is a plus โ€” but not required
  • Willingness to learn (we provide full paid training)

Why Join Lawson Home Services

  • Paid professional training
  • Competitive pay + performance bonuses on upgrade work
  • Career advancement into ductwork, insulation, radon mitigation, or energy auditing
  • Family-owned company with a respected reputation
  • Supportive team environment
  • Meaningful work that improves health, safety, and comfort for homeowners

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Mondayโ€“Friday
  • Occasional overtime available during peak seasons

Compensation

Competitive hourly wage + bonuses
