Job description

Sporting Department Sales Associates are the faces of our Sporting Department and play an important role in creating a welcoming and knowledgeable experience for every customer. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about hunting, fishing, archery, and the outdoors, and enjoys helping customers find the right products for their needs.

This role includes assisting customers at the sporting counter, where Guests are often shopping for firearms, bows, hunting gear, fishing equipment, and related sporting goods. Team members help answer questions, recommend products, assist with purchases, and provide excellent Guest service throughout the department. The Sporting Department can ebb and flow throughout the day and season โ€” some shifts may be fast-paced and extremely busy, while others may be slower and focused on stocking, organizing, and maintaining the department.

ยทย ย ย ย Delivers outstanding Guest service by maintaining a positive, friendly, and knowledgeable demeanor with every customer.

ยทย ย ย ย ย Assists customers at the sporting counter, including customers shopping for firearms, bows, hunting gear, fishing supplies, and other sporting merchandise.

ยทย ย ย ย ย Helps customers select products that best fit their needs by sharing personal knowledge and experience in hunting, firearms, archery, and/or outdoor sports.

ยทย ย ย ย ย Supervises and assists customers using the in-store archery lane to safely test bows.

ยทย ย ย ย ย Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume to keep the department operating smoothly and efficiently.

ยทย ย ย ย ย Uses suggestive selling techniques to boost sales and improve Guest satisfaction.

ยทย ย ย ย ย Stocks merchandise, organizes displays, and helps maintain a clean and professional department appearance.

ยทย ย ย ย ย Follows all state and federal regulations related to firearms and sporting goods sales.

ยทย ย ย ย ย Follows Company operational policies and procedures, including cash handling and safety procedures.

ยทย ย ย ย ย Promotes teamwork and readily assists coworkers throughout the shift.
