Job description

Job Description At Bulkmatic you are more than just a truck driver. You'll operate pneumatic equipment, manage relationships with customers and be empowered to make the right decisions for your deliveries - All while being part of a team that leads in the dry bulk shipping industry.
Home Time:
We are offering a rotating 4 On/ 4 Off schedule with guaranteed home time on the 4 Off. At our Griffith Terminal our drivers do a combination of local and regional work. Drivers on this schedule should expect to average 2 nights on the road during their 4-On. Bulkmatic provides hotel rooms for overnight stays. Weekend work is required when the 4 On rotation covers a weekend.
Pay:
Griffith based drivers on the 4 On/ 4 Off schedule are now expected to average $85,000- $95,000 per year.We are currently offering a $5,000 bonus to new hires in the Chicago area

About the Job:
Being a driver for Bulkmatic is a more physical job than driving for many other companies. Two-thirds of your time will be driving. The rest of the time will be loading, unloading using the pneumatic systems and interacting with customers. We have extensive training on our safety procedures and the pneumatic equipment. No Pneumatic Experience Required.

We offer paid training for all new drivers. Job Requirements
  • Be at least 23 years old to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle interstate
  • Must possess a valid Class A CDL with at least 1-year Tractor Trailer driving experience.
    • Driving Experience should be within the past 10 years; within the past 5 years is preferred.
    • Military driving experience will be considered.
  • Be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, andto make entries on reports and records
  • Be physically and mentally qualified to drive a company vehicle and possess a valid medical certificate as defined by the FMCSA
  • Must not be disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under the rules and regulations set forth by the FMCSA
  • Meet all the requirements and be able to perform all of the tasks and essential duties of the job description
  • You must have a valid CDL Class A license in the State that you reside in or in cases of recent relocation the ability to change license within 30 days.
    • Hazmatendorsement required at certain locations. Tank endorsement not required for dry bulk.
  • Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years.
  • No Speeding Violations of 15+ mph or over pending or adjudicated in the last 3 years
  • No Careless / Reckless driving convictions within past 3 years
  • No Erratic or Improper lane change violations within the last 3 years.
  • No Distraction or Handheld device violations within the past 1 year.
  • No alcohol or drug related violations within the past 10 years.
  • The following are not allowed in the past 3 years:
    • Preventable accidents: Head on, Rollover, Rear End, Jackknife, Struck side of other vehicle
  • No more than 1 Preventable Road accident in the past 3 years
  • No more than a combination of 1 Preventable Road accident and 1 Preventable off-road accident in past 3 years
  • No more than 2 Preventable off-road accidents allowed in the past 3 years
  • No safety related suspensions or Suspensions resulting from a previous citation/violation in last 10 years
  • Not more than 1 administrative suspension in last 3 years, not more than 2 in the last 5 years
