Role: Web Designer Master
Client: DC Government
Location: Washington, DC (Onsite)
Job Description:
Drupal Development & Architecture
  • Develop, configure, and maintain websites using the latest versions of Drupal (9/10/11).
  • Build custom modules, themes, and integrations following Drupal best practices.
  • Implement and maintain content types, views, taxonomies, blocks, and menus.
  • Ensure code quality through version control, peer reviews, and adherence to coding standards (Drupal Coding Standards, PSRโ€‘4, Composer workflows).
Site Maintenance & Enhancements
  • Perform regular updates, security patches, and module upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve site issues, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility problems.
  • Optimize websites for speed, accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, custom code, and deployment processes.
Integration & API Development
  • Build and maintain integrations with thirdโ€‘party systems (REST, API, GraphQL, SSO, CRM, payment gateways, etc.).
  • Work with cloud hosting environments (Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, Azure) to deploy and manage Drupal applications.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.
Collaboration & Project Support
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement modern, userโ€‘friendly interfaces.
  • Partner with content editors to improve workflows, permissions, and editorial experience.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives).

Required Qualifications

  • 3โ€“5+ years of experience developing with Drupal (including Drupal 9/10/11).
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design.
  • Experience with Composer, Drush, Git, and modern development workflows.
  • Knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB and database optimization.
