Drupal Design information

How does a Drupal Designer typically collaborate with developers and content teams during a website project?

Drupal Designers often work closely with both developers and content teams to ensure a seamless user experience and technical feasibility. During a project, designers will create wireframes and prototypes, gather feedback from stakeholders, and adjust designs based on input from developers regarding module capabilities or theme constraints. They also coordinate with content managers to ensure the design supports content strategy and accessibility standards. Regular communication and collaborative tools, such as project management platforms and design systems, help maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Drupal Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Drupal Designer, you need expertise in front-end web design, a solid understanding of the Drupal CMS, and a background in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles. Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, HTML/CSS, and Drupal theming modules is essential, along with knowledge of current web standards. Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills help you work effectively with developers and stakeholders. These abilities are critical to creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and functional websites that leverage Drupal’s full potential.

What is Drupal design?

Drupal design refers to the process of creating and implementing the visual and user experience aspects of websites built on the Drupal content management system (CMS). This involves designing themes, layouts, user interfaces, and ensuring that the site is both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. Drupal designers often collaborate with developers to customize site appearance and functionality, utilizing Drupal's powerful theming system. Their goal is to deliver a website that not only looks great but also aligns with the client’s branding and usability needs.

What is the difference between Drupal Design vs Web Designer?

Drupal Design specialists focus on creating and customizing themes within the Drupal CMS, requiring technical skills like PHP and theme development. Web Designers have a broader role in designing website layouts, visuals, and user interfaces, often emphasizing graphic design and user experience. While both roles involve web aesthetics, Drupal Design is more technical and CMS-specific, whereas Web Design covers a wider range of design tasks across platforms.

Job description

About Pantheon

Pantheon WebOps Platform powers the open web. Pantheon is the WebOps platform where the web works that unifies developers, marketers, and IT around one way to build, run, and govern your entire web portfolio running more than 700,000 sites. Every day, thousands of developers and marketers create, iterate, and scale WordPress, Drupal, and Next.js sites to reach billions of people globally. Organizations including Clorox and the United Nations drive results through accelerated development and real-time publishing using Pantheon's collaborative workflows.

The Role

We're seeking a Technical Enablement Sr. Manager who will develop and deliver technical training for our internal teams and content for agency partners. This role sits at the intersection of instructional design, AI-assisted content creation, and cross-functional partnership. You will champion AI-powered enablement practices across Pantheon.

The Technical Enablement Sr. Manager owns technical confidence across our ecosystem, helping teams ramp faster, adopt best practices, and deepen their knowledge of the Pantheon platform and modern web workflows. You'll design systems and programs from the ground up, and you'll be measured on outcomes, not just output. You'll report to the Director, Revenue Enablement and partner closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Services, and Partner leadership.

What You'll Do

Technical Training & Certification

  • Design, build, and maintain technical certification programs, onboarding curricula, and ongoing skill development tracks across Sales, Customer Success, Services, Support, and Partner teams.
  • Own the technical enablement curriculum lifecycle, from needs analysis and content design through delivery, iteration, and sunset, using established instructional design principles.
  • Develop and maintain a library of field-ready technical enablement assets: eLearning courses, playbooks, battle cards, objection handling guides, demo scripts, and case studies, using AI-assisted authoring tools to accelerate production quality.

Field & Partner Readiness

  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and GTM teams to translate complex platform concepts, security, architecture, integrations, and new product releases, into field-ready content that drives immediate application.
  • Design and deliver demo excellence programs for Solutions Engineers, Account Executives, and Partner teams, including demo environment setup, scenario scripting, and live coaching.
  • Support pre-sales, post-sales and partner enablement by equipping BDRs, AEs, CS, Services, and partner managers with technical fluency programs that shorten sales cycles and increase conversion confidence.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track enablement KPIs including time-to-productivity for new hires, content utilization rates, learner engagement scores, and field performance metrics (win rate, ramp speed, quota attainment).
  • Establish and maintain a structured feedback loop with field teams, collecting insights on content gaps, readiness challenges, and program effectiveness and act on that feedback on a regular cadence.
  • Use data and an AI feedback loop to continuously improve program effectiveness and communicate impact to stakeholders in quarterly business reviews.

AI Enablement & Innovation

  • Champion AI best practices across the organization, modeling how GTM teams can embed AI tools into daily work, not just occasional use.
  • Develop and scale AI adoption playbooks for GTM roles, measuring adoption rates and documenting workflow outcomes across teams.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in technical enablement, sales engineering, solutions consulting, or product training in a SaaS environment, with a track record of building programs that drove measurable field outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into field-ready content for non-technical audiences, with the credibility to influence cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Experience building and managing technical certification programs, onboarding curricula, and blended learning experiences (live, eLearning, and just-in-time formats).
  • Working knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Comfort working with an enablement tech stack: LMS/LXP platforms, Salesforce, Gong, and AI-assisted authoring tools.
  • Demonstrated experience embedding AI tools into daily workflows and helping others do the same. You don't just use AI, you build the case for it, train others on it, and measure adoption.
  • Familiarity with web development platforms and modern web workflows is a plus; ability to develop deep platform expertise quickly is required. Prior hands-on experience with Pantheon, WordPress, Drupal, or Next.js is a welcome bonus, not a prerequisite.

What We Offer

At Pantheon, we're building something meaningful, and we want the people who help us get there to thrive while doing it. Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • Industry-competitive compensation and equity plan
  • Flexible time off, sick days, and 13 paid holidays
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid parental leave, plus fertility, adoption, and family planning benefits
  • In-office workspace available in select cities
  • Monthly allowance for wellness, reading, and professional development
  • LinkedIn Learning access for ongoing growth
  • Company events and team activities designed to inspire, educate, and connect

The base salary range for this role is $115,000-$145,000 USD, plus a performance bonus and equity. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Pantheon is an equal-opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all backgrounds regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, disability, or any other classification protected by law. If you need a reasonable accommodation during the interview process, please contact talent@pantheon.io. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
