Drupal Design information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Drupal Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Drupal Designer, you need expertise in front-end web design, a solid understanding of the Drupal CMS, and a background in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles. Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, HTML/CSS, and Drupal theming modules is essential, along with knowledge of current web standards. Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills help you work effectively with developers and stakeholders. These abilities are critical to creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and functional websites that leverage Drupal’s full potential.

How does a Drupal Designer typically collaborate with developers and content teams during a website project?

Drupal Designers often work closely with both developers and content teams to ensure a seamless user experience and technical feasibility. During a project, designers will create wireframes and prototypes, gather feedback from stakeholders, and adjust designs based on input from developers regarding module capabilities or theme constraints. They also coordinate with content managers to ensure the design supports content strategy and accessibility standards. Regular communication and collaborative tools, such as project management platforms and design systems, help maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

What is Drupal design?

Drupal design refers to the process of creating and implementing the visual and user experience aspects of websites built on the Drupal content management system (CMS). This involves designing themes, layouts, user interfaces, and ensuring that the site is both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. Drupal designers often collaborate with developers to customize site appearance and functionality, utilizing Drupal's powerful theming system. Their goal is to deliver a website that not only looks great but also aligns with the client’s branding and usability needs.

Drupal Design specialists focus on creating and customizing themes within the Drupal CMS, requiring technical skills like PHP and theme development. Web Designers have a broader role in designing website layouts, visuals, and user interfaces, often emphasizing graphic design and user experience. While both roles involve web aesthetics, Drupal Design is more technical and CMS-specific, whereas Web Design covers a wider range of design tasks across platforms.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Solutions Lead to join our Customer Identity team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of solutions that support our evolving Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) ecosystem. Lead the definition and evolution of a custom-built API to support identity lifecycle management and customer data orchestration.
Ensure solutions align with security, privacy, and compliance standards.
Partner with Enterprise Architects, other Solution Leads, and Tech Leads to define cross-system capabilities and ensure architectural consistency.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to feature definition, story mapping, estimation, and test planning.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, including support for proof-of-concept implementations and troubleshooting complex integration issues.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in solution architecture, software development, or technical leadership roles.
Proven experience with CIAM platforms (e.g., Okta, Auth0, Azure AD B2C) and identity protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML).
Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, ideally in customer identity or user management contexts.
Familiarity with Salesforce data models and multi-tenant architecture.
Experience with Drupal and enterprise CMS platforms is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

Experience with automation tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent communication and documentation skills, including data modeling and process flow diagrams.
Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and influence technical direction.
