Job description

Drum Workshop (DW Drums), a legacy brand and world leader in the music industry, is hiring in our Oxnard, CA facility for several positions in our DW Drum manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for executing various manufacturing processes within multiple departments of drum production. Drum Shells are made out of thin plys of wood veneer which are wrapped into cylinder molds to create a shell. The shells are then processed through sanding, drilling, edging, paint, buffing, QA, assembly and packaging. Each one of these steps is vital to the overall art of creating a DW Drum Kit.

Requirements
We are currently seeking motivated and committed individuals willing to learn new trades with the aptitude for manufacturing;
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of common hand tools; and manufacturing processes preferred
  • Willingness to learn; no prior experience required-training provided.
  • Must be willing to follow tasks and instructions as provided by the Supervision including but not limited to assisting in departments outside of standard work area, willingness to cross train, and complete housekeeping tasks in compliance with Safety procedures
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent work attendance
  • Must possess basic math skills including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for the purposes of calculating material fabrication
  • Excellent communication and must be detail orientated
  • Able to multi task and self-managing tasks
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and properly use required PPE.
  • Strong attention to detail and patience to ensure a flawless finish.
  • Comfortable working independently in a very focused environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a buffing wheel machine within a designated dust-controlled booth.
  • Remove scratches, blemishes, and imperfections from drum shells.
  • Apply final buffing compound to achieve a high-gloss, vibrant finish.
  • Use body weight to apply the necessary pressure when pressing drum shells against the buffing wheel
  • Read and interpret work orders to determine requirements and setup procedures.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout the buffing process.
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection and possibly eye protection.

  • Must be able to lift and maneuver drum shells weighing 30+ pounds.

  • Frequent standing throughout the shift, with occasional opportunities to sit.
  • Repetitive arm, hand, and wrist movements when holding and positioning drum shells.
