Job description

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; two years of experience in a Virginia elections office; preferred familiarity with absentee voting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. -Knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, regulations, ordinances and procedures related to the registration of voters and administration of absentee voting in the Commonwealth of Virginia. -Regularly work under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines -Awareness or use of VERIS -Ability to interpret and understand Election law.

-Confident team member with excellent verbal and written communications -Effectively represent the General Registrar in responding to inquiries and providing information and assistance in absentee voting and voter registration. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. Duties Supervises and coordinates all activities pertaining to all mailed absentee voting - regular, permanent, military, and overseas - according to federal and state election laws Assists in recruitment of staff, hiring, and training all staff as it relates to absentee voting Oversees the Central Absentee Precinct and provides training for election workers Supervises and coordinates activities involved in preparing absentee ballots for tabulation on Election Day Assists in programming and conducting Logic and Accuracy testing of the voting machines used during absentee voting Answers questions and provides information to the public, candidates, political party representatives, and other stakeholders regarding absentee voting laws and regulations Responds to e-mails concerning absentee processes and procedures Compiles Absentee Voting Reports Keys in operating Tri-Tek Machine and High-Speed scanner Performs other work as required.
