This role is fully on site. Candidates selected to move forward will complete our standard prescreening process, which includes a background check and drug screen.

About The Role

The Test Technician performs intermediate-level functional, integration, and performance testing on APCON network monitoring products. This role works with moderate supervision, contributes to test procedure refinement, and provides guidance to Test Specialist team members. The Test Technician brings a deeper technical skill set and growing independence to the testing team.

What You Will Do

  • Execute functional, integration, and regression tests on network switches, TAPs, and packet broker assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot test failures using diagnostic tools, logs, and schematics.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of test procedures and checklists.
  • Repair PCB assemblies, networking hardware, and related components.
  • Mentor and support Test Specialist I team members.
  • Debug and troubleshoot electronic assemblies, PCBA's, and system-level hardware to identify root causes and perform corrective actions.
  • Document defects with detailed root cause observations in the defect tracking system.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of test stations and environments.
  • Participate in calibration and preventive maintenance of test equipment.

What You Bring

  • Solid understanding of electronics, networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP), and signal integrity concepts.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, protocol analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to accurately document, track and maintain testing records.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience documenting test results and defect reports with precision.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Associate degree in electronics, computer networking, or a related technical field required. Bachelor degree in a technical discipline preferred.

Bonus Skills

  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD certification.
  • Experience testing networking or telecommunications equipment.
  • Familiarity with test automation concepts or scripting.
