Job description

Role Summary

Urban Outfitters is seeking a Merchandise Operations Specialist! Daily responsibilities will be to support the daily operational functions within your buying area; to ensure timely delivery of merchandise through consistent communication and follow-up with the vendors, the distribution center and the buying team; and to develop key cross functional relationships with the distribution center, vendors and production, buying, planning, and allocation.  Additionally, the role is focused on a nuanced area of the business - Drop Ship - where the Specialist will be the owner and manage these specific tasks and business needs.

Role Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

       PO entry and revisions. 

       Ensure timely delivery of merchandise through tracking and monitoring receipts.

       SKU Maintenance.

       Backorder and pre-order management.

       DC communication and follow-up.

       Manage and execute RTV's, Retickets, Price Changes, etc. in coordination w/ Planning and Allocation teams.

       Manage receipts alongside the OTB availability, ensuring class is not overbought and collaborating with planning/buying when shifting orders/receipts.

       Manage DTC flags and shipping restrictions.

       GTIN management.

       QA problematic SKU's based on customer feedback.  Correct inventory issues with sites to improve customer experience.  Manage the status of these sku's throughout the QA process with sites.

       Work with web ops to address/correct customer facing product info to maintain accuracy and consistency.

       Facilitate and assist in corrections and adjustments to invoices with Accounts Payable team.

       Work in synergy with Buying, Planning and Allocation teams toward common goals for the merchandise area. 

Specialized Responsibilities

       Super-user of the DSCO/Rithum system for Drop Ship, which connects UO to vendors shipping goods directly to our customer, versus owned inventory.

       Creation, maintenance and management of Drop Ship SKUs.

    • Update status changes, cost changes, lead day adjustments.
    • Issue payment for cost discrepancies, credit memos, address corrections.
    • Monitor DSCO/Rithum SKU issues or system errors.

       Assist with vendor onboarding for both URBN and DSCO/Rithum platforms, as well as maintain vendor relationships for customer issues and order updates.

       Monitor fulfillment delays, overdue orders and discontinued items and address those with vendor and buying to ensure customer satisfaction and website accuracy.

       Work in synergy with Buying and Planning teams toward common goals for the Drop Ship program.

Role Qualifications

       Excellent communication skills

       Must be analytical and able to comprehend how multiple systems interact.

       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Google Workspace programs

       Excellent Time Management skills

       High sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities.

       Productivity and prioritization skills a must.

       Detail Oriented

       Prior experience in retail inventory software is a plus.

       Customer Service or prior retail experience is a plus.
