Job description

Roll Off Driver

Reports to: Hydrovac Manager or Dispatcher

Job Status: Full-Time

Compensation: DOE

Summary/Objective: The Roll-Off Operator will be responsible for overall daily operation and construction.

Essential Functions:

  • Keep the truck clean and organized
  • Report any equipment safety deficiencies
  • Must be on time and ready to work when scheduled (scheduling can be unpredictable at times due to industry needs).
  • Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and work well with others.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment if needed
  • Demonstrate proficiency in equipment start-up, operating, inspecting and maintenance of equipment
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and direct subordinate personnel to perform duties/tasks in a safe, timely and efficient manner
  • Must pick up and drop bins at locations and set liners in bins
  • Dispose of materials and wash out at approved disposals
  • Keep bins, ramps, and equipment maintained and in good working order.
  • Willingness to cross-train and work among other divisions when needed
  • Successfully complete selected/required Operator Qualifications (OQโ€™s)

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Commercial Driving exp: 2 years preferred
  • Valid Operating CDL Class A license with tanker endorsement required
  • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical and fit for duty
  • Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, climb perform numerous task that requires physical agility and manual dexterity as well as mental acuity throughout shift
  • Maintain acceptable personal hygiene, professional appearance and is clean-shaven (job-specific), and appropriate PPE at all times
  • Must be able to pass safety screening for fit tests and pulmonary test for cross-functionality between customers.
  • Must have solid verbal and written communication skills to complete all required paperwork
  • Must maintain customer orientation annually.
  • Basic math skills (addition subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out day-to-day operation issues
  • Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment/tools
  • Must have own housing
  • Must be able to walk up to 5 miles per day, and lift up to 70lbs
  • Must be able to drive up to 600 miles a day
  • Regularly gets into and out of vehicles and rides over rough roads
  • Must be able to maintain cleanliness of all company equipment and vehicles
  • Always conduct themselves in a professional manner
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain a clean driving record
  • Must be able to complete all safety requirements of the job
  • Must complete all required paperwork within appropriate time frame
  • Attend all safety meetings unless approved otherwise by Manager
  • Report to work as scheduled
  • Demonstrate proficiency in adhering to all DOT, Federal, State, Local, Customer and all company Health, Safety Environmental rules and regulations

Work Environment:

The company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work outside in all weather conditions. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold weather, extreme heat, sustained noisy environment and vibration.

Physical Demands:

Must be physically able to climb stairs, sit, stand, walk, carry, push, and lift up to 75 lbs., pulling, kneeling, bending, twisting, repetitive wrist and hand movements for extended periods of time, and perform numerous tasks that require physical agility and manual dexterity as well as mental acuity throughout shift.

Position type and expected hours of work: Must be flexible. The typical schedule is M-F. Some weekends/holidays are required.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (or equivalent education and technical experience)
