The Bus Driver is responsible for pick up and drop off of passengers at designated locations.
Primary Responsibilities
Pick up and drop off passengers (primarily students grades 1-12) at designated locations
Ensure passengers enter and exit the vehicle safely
Take attendance of passengers on the vehicle
Perform beginning of shift vehicle inspections before departure and end of shift sweeping and wiping down of seats
Obey all traffic laws and safety procedures for operating a motor vehicle.
Ensure passenger guidelines and expectations are met to ensure safety
Communicate behavior issues to Site Coordinator
Attend safety meetings and trainings as required
Weekly fueling of vehicle
Qualifications
Must have Commonwealth of Virginia drivers license and a good driving record
- Must pass be able to pass a criminal background check
Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED
Valid CDL preferred, but not required
Familiarity and comfort with working in an urban setting with diverse populations
Must be a team player and possess strong social and interpersonal skills
Compensation and Benefits
This is a part-time position with varying hours during the school year (M-F 2:00pm-7:30pm) and summer (M-F 7:30am-3:30pm) with flexibility within those hours.
