Job description

The Operations & Security Technician provides high level systems monitoring and troubleshooting for Novva Data Centers. This role serves as the first line of support for Novva customers as well as provides logistical support for the facility. Main areas of responsibility include monitoring of IT, mechanical and power infrastructure systems. Provide timely response with basic troubleshooting and escalations where needed. Follow established processes for resolution to incidents, onboarding of new customers, provisioning of security credentials, and escorting individuals into the data center as needed. Other duties include maintaining entry logs, performing perimeter and facility checks to ensure overall site security and cleanliness. Applicants should have excellent customer service skills with attention to detail. Onsite training will be provided over first
30 days of employment. 

Night Shift: 6 pm to 6 am 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends. 

Location:  Sparks, Nevada 


 

Responsibilities: 


 High-level responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Monitor and respond to onsite access activity via CCTV and access control software. 
  • Monitor and respond to alerts from various system monitoring tools 
  • Identify critical system issues with large scale impact and escalate appropriately
  • Provide professional and timely customer service 
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting and service requests. 
  • Respond to incidents and requests via phone and IT ticketing system 
  • Understand basic Windows application/OSI Layer 1 troubleshooting principles 
  • Provide support to internal teams 
  • Receive/offload facility deliveries 

              Skills: 


              • Ability to follow established processes and procedures 
              • Tracking of all work via ticketing system 
              • Work and communicate effectively with others 
              • Understanding of data centers and the roles they play in industry 
              • Use and maintain knowledge base data 
              • PC / Windows / MS Office Savvy 
              • Able to lift up to 50 lbs 
              • Part 107 - Drone Certification. (Have or have the ability to obtain over first 90 days of employment) 
              • Relevant Data Center Certifications. (Have or have the ability to obtain over the first 90 days of employment)  

              Education and Experience: 0

              •  Minimum: High School Diploma 
              • Preferred: Associate's Degree and/or equivalent corresponding work experience in a Data Center space
