Role Description The Hardware Engineer role at Sine Engineering is a full-time hybrid position based in Bozeman, MT, with some flexibility for work from home. In this role, the Hardware Engineer designs, develops, and tests electronics hardware and computer hardware components that support drone autonomy and communication systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include circuit design and schematic development, board bring-up, hardware debugging, and collaboration with firmware, software, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration. The Hardware Engineer participates in hardware reviews, documentation, and validation procedures, while contributing to continuous improvement of performance, reliability, and manufacturability. This role involves hands-on lab work, prototyping, and close coordination with cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Hardware Development and Hardware engineering for embedded and autonomous systems.
  • Proficiency in Circuit Design and Electronics Hardware Design, including schematic capture and PCB layout collaboration.
  • Experience with Computer Hardware, including interfaces, processors, sensors, and communication modules.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters) and hardware testing methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating in person in Bozeman, MT and remotely as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills, with attention to detail and reliability.
  • Experience in UAV, robotics, RF systems, or autonomous platforms is a plus.
